Preservation is Green
Preserving affordable homes is greener than building new. While many organizations focus on the benefits of building new "green" housing with eye‐catching energy saving features and special woods and other finishes with low carbon footprints, they often miss the point that there is nothing greener than preserving and rehabilitating existing housing. Preserving and safeguarding existing affordable homes is the cornerstone to creating livable communities and is the focus of CHPC’s Affordable Housing Preservation Program.
